Sarah

Sarah Ettman, Principal/Writer/Producer, Nuvigreen Productions

When I’m not in the Nuvigreen Production office creating amazing content, you can find me at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center. I work there as a Marine Ecologist and Naturalist. It’s a great place to “keep my gills wet!”

“ Bula! That’s Fijiian for “hello.”

I love producing original content for clients that's creative and accurate in representing their product or service. I also enjoy documentary film-making about people and the natural world. It’s a sensory experience that’s the perfect combination of visual, audio and written communication. What's cool about making videos and PSAs is that they are a useful vehicle that provides a teachable moment for positive change.

Writing is my forte. Some of my favorite topics are the ocean environment, healthcare, biotechnology, human-interest stories, interviews, and testimonials - anything that offers me an opportunity to learn/write about new subjects. I incorporate my own proprietary blend of education and entertainment, aka "edutainment." I am honored to work with clients, both small and large, who put their trust in me to represent their brand and image in the best possible light.”

The details: A magna cum laude graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts with a degree in biology/marine ecology and minor in education, Sarah also holds a post-graduate degree in Women and Leadership from Antioch University. She is a life-time member of Phi Beta Kappa. Previously, she served as Director of Communications for Sansum Diabetes Research Institute. For 10 years she was responsible for the editorial voice of Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society. During her tenure with Mr. Cousteau, she created content for his website, blog, column in Diver Magazine and articles for major magazines. Sarah helped produce Ocean Adventures, a PBS television series that was broadcasted around the world. In addition to her 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Sarah served in marketing management for biotech and software corporations. She is currently the editor and feature writer for Montecito Neighbors Magazine.

Sarah was born and raised in Miami Shores, Florida and attended Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Coconut Grove.  She is a curious and avid international traveler to great cities, cultural centers and warm tropical islands. Fiji’s coral reefs, Belize’s tropical rain forests, Paris and the South of France hold a special place in her heart, as do her beloved sons, Nick and Niles. When she's not dreaming up ideas for marketing campaigns, producing videos or drafting press releases for clients, you can find Sarah cruising the waters off Montecito’s Miramar Beach aboard her SUP-yak or e-biking into Santa Barbara.
